Helping Daddy

As I have mentioned before, our house is typically a construction site. The latest project is our sunroom off from the kitchen. We use it as the boys play room but it has been in need of sheetrock and insulation. Bryan has been working on it most of this week. Of course, he always has some helpers. Michael is amazed at the nails going into the sheetrock.
Wilson helping Daddy! Actually, Bryan was holding up a 4x12 piece of sheetrock while Jimmy (our sheetrock man) is nailing it and Wilson decided he wanted Bryan's hammer.

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We had a great Thanksgiving day. We hosted the big meal at our house...first time. Everything was yummy but I am afraid we will be eating all this stuff for the next week or longer. Wilson sampling my cooking on Wednesday night. Don't let Smokey have any!!!
Memaw Cates showing Michael the big bird. He wasn't quite sure.

And here we are...the hosts. So hard to get family shots these days.

Getting the Tree!

Since Wilson was sick on Sunday we didn't get up to the mountains to get our tree. I took the boys on Monday to get our tree at good ole King's. They liked running and hiding in the Christmas trees, which made it a little tough for me. Still managed to get a nice tree and the boys love it. Now if we can just keep them from trying to climb it or pull it over. Michael finds the tree he likes.
Looks like a good hiding place.

Wilson decided to take a rest.

Which one should we get, Bruddy?

Picture Day

We had an appointment to get pictures made this Saturday. Bryan and I have never had an official family picture made with the boys so this was going to be our chance. However, Wilson woke up Saturday morning with a fever and congestion, which only got worse as the day progressed. He would only get in a picture if I was holding him and he was extremely hard to get a smile out of. Michael on the other hand was a ham. He just grinned and posed for the camera. Fortunately, the photographer got some good shots some how. We are going to try again soon because the photographer was so great and so patient. Hopefully next time Wilson will be feeling better. Took him to the doctor this morning and he just has a really bad sinus infection. Luckily it wasn't strep...which they thought it might be. He was cranky today but I am sure he will be on the mend tomorrow. All dressed up and ready to go for the pictures. Michael decided to squat down like Mommy was doing to take the picture.
Michael getting his picture face on. As you can tell, Wilson was not feeling like being photographed.

After the pictures we had a little get together at Memaw and Poppa Clauses' for Great Memaw and Uncle Mike. Michael got out in the leaves with cousin Erin and Andrew.

Great Memaw and Uncle Mike

Today the boys had a visit from their Great-Memaw and Uncle Mike (Michael's namesake) who are in town visiting from Florida. The boys loved being able to show Great Memaw and Uncle Mike all their tools and toys. Can't wait for them to come back again soon.

Man's Best Friend...Most of the Time

Usually Wilson and Michael and our dogs don't interact much. Well, the boys usually are trying to chase the dogs with some push toy and the dogs are trying their best to get as far back under the table in the corner as possible to stay away from the guys. Tonight though, everyone seemed to be in a loving mood. Michael giving Smokey a hug. This is Michael's new face when he knows he is getting his picture taking. I think it is a "cheeeeeesssseee" face.

Just Another Exciting Weekend!

Since most weekends are spent working on the house, we end up spending most of the day watching Bryan work away on his particular project. This weekend it is the carport roof...fun! The boys wanted Daddy to eat dinner at their table.
Wilson thinks my plant needs to be watered...hmmm!

We really need to get the boys a sandbox. Since we didn't have another shovel handy, Michael decided the crowbar would work fine for him.

Bryan, working away on the roof.

Michael is saying "dirty" as he digs in the red, sandy dirt. Did I mention we need a sandbox. P.S. Michael is feeling much better...children are so resilient!

Taking Care of Michael

Michael is not feeling well today so we are heading to the doctor's office this afternoon. Wilson was really concerned when brother fell asleep this morning. He wanted to make sure "Bruddy" was okay. They can be so sweet!

Construction Zone

Ever since the boys were born they have been around construction, since our house has been in constant renovation. Their favorite thing to do is to mimic their daddy and use hammers, saws, and drills just like he does. This is a version of how they play. If you have ever been on the phone with me, this is typically the sound you hear in the background. Hope you enjoy!

A Trip to Tennessee

Since my sis, Kerry, and her girls, Allison and Jillian, had off school today we decided to head up to Tennessee for a visit. Wilson and Michael had a great time running around the yard and seeing their cousins. Too bad it was so cold. Wilson prefers the golf club.

Wrestling Boys

Wilson and Michael's new thing is wrestling with each other. They usually wrestle pretty good without anyone getting hurt...thank goodness.
