Big Boy Beds

This past weekend we decided it was time to move the boy out of their cribs and into big boy beds. The cribs were turning into jungle gyms for Wilson and Michael so we figured it was time. I have posted a couple of pictures of their new beds. We still have them sleeping in the same room. It has always worked for them and they seem to like each others company. The only problem we are having is that they are impossible to get to sleep at night and naptime isn't even happening. Oh well, maybe they will adjust in a couple of weeks. Sure hope so...I am exhausted. Wilson wanted to be in the picture of the beds. He is so proud.
Their room is tiny but I guess it is cozy for them. We couldn't believe we actually got the beds to fit in there and still have room to walk.
Wilson loves his bed.

My 32nd Birthday!

Today is my 32nd birthday so on top of getting to see snow and play in it with my guys, I also got to eat yummy cake. Memaw and Poppa Claus came over tonight to make us dinner and a cake. Memaw let the boys help...brave woman. I think more frosting went in their mouth then got on the cake but it was still yummy. Thanks for making my birthday so special! Memaw showing the boys how to ice the cake. Wilson just decide to take the icing off the cake and eat it. Michael helped ice the cake but he also liked jabbing holes in the cake too.
Wilson love icing...just like his mommy!
Michael making his silly face!
They worked so hard getting the candles on their. Never thought about putting them on the side like that but I guess once you get older you have to use all the room on the cake for candles.
The finished product, with finger holes and all. Still, it tasted super good.

Snow Day!!!

Today was our first official snow of the year...yeah! Actually this was the first snow that the boys have ever seen, so we bundled up early this morning and went outside to enjoy the white stuff. The boys and the dogs loved it. It was hard to get them back in the house despite be soaking wet...we don't have any real snow clothes. What a fun morning though! Michael walking for the first time in the snow.
Wilson is not so sure about it all.
The boys helping Daddy build a snowman!
And here is our Frosty...seconds later he had his head knocked off by Wilson so atleast I got a picture.
Michael was eating snow by the handful but Wilson just prefered to lick the snow.

Big Boy Diapers!

We are thinking about trying to potty train Wilson. He just turned two but he really likes using the potty like a "big boy" and we just figure why not give it a shot. We are probably in for it. Anyway, we bought him some big boy diapers which he wants to wear all the time now. This afternoon when he should have been taking a nap, he got out of his crib and came into the living room. I was on an important call so I was trying to act like I didn't have a child awake at the moment...yeah right! Wilson decided that he need a new diaper so he started getting them down. Well, he decided he needed about 8 new diapers...it was so funny. He got a little upset once he realized that it was really uncomfortable and he couldn't get them off. I just had to take a picture...too funny!

Wilson and Michael Turn 2

Today was the boys 2nd birthday. We had a great big party with the whole family in attendance...even the Yu's from California were here. I don't know why, but I don't have any pictures of us all together. Guess it is just a little too wild. The boys had a dinosaur theme for their party. We had to order the cake from Ingles since mine fell apart. The boys woke up with a cold but they still had a great day and loved getting to visit with all their family. Singing Happy Birthday to Wilson and Michael.
Cousin Atticus, from Cali, devouring some dino-cake...yum yum
Here we are with the birthday boys!

Our Little Venture!

Bryan and I have started a new business here in Morganton...a much needed business. I wanted to let all of you know about it, though most of you probably already do. We have started a curbside recycling business called Simply Green Recycling Service. This is something I have wanted in Morganton for some time now. Since we finally realized that the city was never going to offer it to us, Bryan and I decided we would offer it to everyone. The fee is only $4.00 a month for bi-weekly pickup. We started advertising in the paper about a week ago and we have our parents putting out flyers in their neighborhoods. We have already gotten a really good turn out and most people are as excited about this program as we are. I just wanted to let all of you know about our company and also to get you to tell any of your friends and family who live in the city limits of Morganton about our service. We are finding out that word of mouth is truly the best form of advertising. I have posted a link to our website on the sidebar here under favorites. Check it out and tell us what you think.
